2010 Mercer House Family Day
Thursday, August 26, 2010

Last year Mercer House teamed up with the Casper Balloon Roundup to offer our 1st Annual Mercer House Kite Festival. Mercer House staff and board members pondered the thought of continuing the Kite Festival for a second year. We struggled pulling together an event that was family friendly, fun for kids, and Drug, Alcohol, and Tobacco FREE. We came to a grand decision, we changed our theme and decided on the 2010 2nd Annual Mercer House Family Day! It was a truely awesome opportunity providing free activities, food, and entertainment for our children and families in Natrona County!

After one, very soggy, rained out day, we rescheduled for Parade Day. Mercer House and the Youth Empowerment Council kicked off the day with a home-themed parade float in the Casper Parade. The festivities began at 1pm with a free lunch from The Salvation Army and entertainment by Casper local, Adam Jackson. We owe a huge Thank You to the Salvation Army for providing lunch and snacks! Mercer House offtered free activities such as face painting, balloon animals, juggling, and crafts; including, of course KITES! The Wagon Wheel provided us a brand new inflatable slide, which took up our entire yard! This was an amazing attraction for our Family Day and obviously SUPER FUN! Thanks a bunch Orvill and The Wagon Wheel staff.
Mercer House would like to thank everyone whom helped promote and helped us achieve this much-needed family event for Natrona county. We would also like to thank the families who donated to Mercer House, so that we may continue offering these events!
