Organization History

Mercer House, Inc. has been serving Natrona County since 1973 with the mission to be a family resource center providing family and youth programming, counseling, and referral services that build stronger and healthier youth and families in Natrona County. We serve the community by providing services in four arenas: family/parenting education; early intervention for alcohol use and life skills; community connections, such as mentoring and case management; and environmental strategies for policy change and social norming. We serve an average of 500 families each year, in addition to the thousands of county residents we reach with our education campaigns. Last year our family programming participants showed a 130% increase in effective parenting skills and they demonstrated significant improvement in family conflict and family management skills. We have an excellent track record in reducing the number of out-of-home placements in our community as a result of our collaboration with DFS and other community agencies. We believe that all kids benefit when the community joins together to support the health and wellbeing of our families. Families are the heart of Natrona County.
