CHINS (Children In Need of Supervision

Our CHINS assessment and case management services support youth who are experiencing behavioral concerns. 

Pre-CHINS is an assessment process for referral or prevention of placement of youth who:

• Have not reached their 17th birthday

• Are habitually absent from school or have run away from home

• Habitually disobey reasonable and lawful demands of their parents

• Are ungovernable and beyond control

Our pre-CHINS services are available to youth ages 12–15 referred by parents and caregivers, school districts, and other agencies. Our services include case management, intervention and education programming, weekly check-ins, and monitoring of school attendance and grades. These services are provided at no charge.
