Natrona County Prevention Coalition (NCPC)
The Natrona County Prevention Coalition is a thriving coalition of over 50 member agencies, businesses, and people who want to prevent substance abuse in our community. Mercer Family Resource Center is the lead agency for NCPC and acts as the Coalition's fiscal agent.
Our Mission
Working together, we prevent substance abuse by promoting healthy and positive choices.
What We Do
Provide healthy, substance free activities for our youth
Provide funding for many after school programs in the community
Sponsor educational events that promote substance abuse prevention
Develop and implement strategies to reduce alcohol, tobacco, drug use, and violence
Collaborate with community agencies to promote awareness of issues around substance use
NCPC members meet monthly to share our efforts toward the mission, discuss coalition goals and activities, seek support from one another, and ensure we’re making the most of our resources.
Subcommittees
Community Prevention Strategies Group Subcommittee (CPSG)
The CPSG Subcommittee is responsible for addressing substance abuse prevention throughout the community. The committee works with several local agencies to identify areas of substance abuse, collect data, and brainstorm possible solutions to current substance abuse issues.
Family and Parenting Subcommittee
The Family and Parenting Subcommittee is responsible for addressing the needs of Natrona County children, parents, and families. The committee organizes several events throughout the year to provide access to information, activities, and a substance-free space for families. These events currently include our annual Family Game Night and annual Community Baby Shower.
Other Initiatives
Youth Empowerment Council (YEC)
NCPC partners with the Youth Empowerment Council to provide leadership opportunities. The Youth Empowerment Council (Y.E.C.) is a substance-free, responsible, open group of young leaders who collaborate to better the community, support one another, inspire youth, grow and lead by example—for youth, by youth.
